David Fulmer has been a writer and producer for over twenty years.
Among his production projects is the audio series "Americana - A Mosaic of American
Music" which was featured on NPR-affiliate WABE-FM and on WMLB-AM, both in
Atlanta. He wrote and produced the documentary "Blind Willie's Blues," which Video
Librarian called "nothing less than the economic, social, and historical evolution of
America's indigenous music." He co-produced and wrote the liner notes for "Piano Red
- The Lost Atlanta Tapes," which was released in August 2010 on Landslide Records.
He has written and produced web, interactive, and broadcast content for clients
including Studiocom Atlanta, the Caribbean Innovation and Technology Park, IBM
Learning Services, Lockwood-Greene, Ltd., the government of Trinidad and Tobago,
the Dekalb County Commission, EBRU-TV, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Public
Broadcasting Atlanta, National Public Radio, the Georgia Department of Tourism, 1-to-
1 Media, and Georgia Public Television.
As the author of seven critically-acclaimed and award-winning novels, he has been
nominated for a LA Times Book Prize, a Barry Award, and a Falcon Award, has won a
Shamus Award, a Benjamin Franklin Award, and AudioFile Earphones Award, and
has been nominated to numerous “Best of” lists, including Atlanta Magazine’s “Best
of the Shelf” and New York Magazine’s “Best Novels You’ve Never Read.” Mostly
recently, The Blue Door was nominated for the 2009 Shamus Award for Best Novel.
His books have received superlative reviews from publications including The New
York Times, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The San Francisco Chronicle, USA Today,
The Washington Post, BookList, The Times-Picayune, The Christian Science Monitor,
The Plain Dealer, The Baltimore Sun, Publishers Weekly, The Boston Globe, The St.
Louis Post-Dispatch, and The Telegraph (UK) , and have been translated into Italian,
Japanese, French, and Turkish.
As a journalist, he has written features for The Atlanta Journal & Constitution,
Southline, Atlanta Magazine, City Life, Markee, The Atlanta Business Chronicle, Blues
Access, Il Giornale, Goodlife, Advertising Age, The Atlanta Tribune, Paste Magazine,

A native of Pennsylvania and former U.S. Army Intelligence photographer, David
